  1. This game was great, despite the obvious fact that the higher-ups rushed the dev team to completion prematurely. There was supposed to be more in this game like a shooting range, after listening to the left-out audio. It sucks that all that was included in the game but never properly utilized.

  2. I had this game for the Original XBox and I played and beat the whole game. I must've been lucky bc I didn't experience the "game breaking bug".. I enjoyed the 1st and 2nd games and I've had Sleeping Dogs in my library for a year but haven't tried it yet

  3. Nyc is on a grid.. Boulevards/ Avenues run North to South and Streets run East to West.. Once you realize that it makes navigating The City a lot easier in-game and irl as well.. Boston for instance is a confusing city to navigate if you don't know where your going, it doesn't follow a grid system, actually their city streets have no rhyme or reason to the layout at all lml

  4. Only a clown has a problem with this game

I think that every dude secretly urges to live vicariously in NYC while causing utter havoc and mayhem. Just got it, along with True Crime L.A., and will play it on my original Xbox or Xbox One X.

  6. Wished this game got remastered or remade

  7. I remember seeing a poster in a GameStop YEARS ago for True Crime: Hong Kong, then later on, wondering if that game ever even came out. Years later, I would find out it actually turned into Sleeping Dogs. Makes you wonder what could have been..

  8. I had this game on the GameCube(I didn’t have ps2 or Xbox, so this would be my best gta replacement), and it had horrible frame rate issues. Other than that; the graphics were pretty good, and I loved it. I thought it was cool that there were several story chapters, which to me were compelling, and you could play in any order after the first one. There was a karma system, definitely binary, but having 2 endings was cool and something I wasn’t used to at the time. You could own and customize several cars, and have an arsenal of weapons, accessible from the customizable cars. There were different fighting styles. You could join and eventually topple an underground fighting ring, and the do the same with street racers. The game was surprisingly gore-y (you could gib people, and then use their mangled limbs as melee weapons) there was a whole bonus mode where you played as Redman. Absolutely loved that game holy sh

  9. This would be a cool remake

  10. I really enjoyed this game when it came out

its like the warriors if it was a cop game. EDIT and not as good respectfuly tho

  12. There were a lot of games like GTA. True Crime Los Angeles, True Crime New York, Simpsons Hit and Run, The Godfather, Scarface: The World is Yours, Bully, Red Dead Revolver, Getaway Driver, Getaway Driver: Black Monday, Driver 3, Driver: Parallel Line, Mafia, Total Overdose, Just Cause, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

  13. I haven't played this game since the 2000's. But I did love this game at the time.

  14. Game was a masterpiece on it's own time ,gta fan boys from today's time won't understand, it had more to do in it than gta 3 at the time and more fun

  15. Despite the insane slowdown, visually this game looks amazing compared to GTA VC and SA. The gameplay is generally better in the GTA games, but this True Crime really had a good chance to be a great rival to the GTA games, if it just ran better.

The thing that annoyed most people about this game was the fact that you would literally have to drive perfectly and safely mostly throughout all the game because you would get fines and everything and bad Rap for driving insanely or killing people while you're driving this was one thing that annoyed the hell out of me because I like to just drive fast in games and get to where I'm going but it was actually pretty cool that they did this it made it more realistic

  17. This bs mfer complains too much dont listen to this squid yall play the game its super fun dude you're so damn negative you try to make a game I wanna see that joke

  18. 15:45 if u change camera perspectives it controls better…much more responsive

  19. I saw this game in a Target store when i was 13 (im 28 now) and it was the best 2 days ever 😂

  20. I bought true crime streets of LA on the Xbox. Omg it was awful. clunky controls is being very kind to that game. It was a bad mess

This was the first crime game i had as a kid I remember my dad wouldn’t let me have any crime games… at all even when i was 12 and GTA 5 came out… even when i was 14 and i had
Mafia 2 he threw it away 😭🤦🏾 but when i was about 8 i was looking through the livingroom and we had this huge wooden chest selves thingy and i found this game and a few other for my ps2 i feel in love with it once i booted it up everything from the graphics to the little details like being able to go into pharmacies it was just perfect to me maybe thats just nostalgia talking tho. This game for me has heavily influenced the type of games that rank as my favorite from games like RDR 1 and 2 to games that I consider masterpieces like Sleeping Dogs and Watch Dogs 1 and 2 lowkey im hella grateful for sneaking in the dead of night because i was bored of playing Winnie the Poos Honey Adventure and stumbled upon this game instead❤️

Another fantastic game that would need a remaster but sadly it'll never happen

That opening bit stuck in my mind for years. The bloody guy opening the door and going on a freakin rampage. Loved the game man.

  26. A third game called True Crime Hong Kong was cancelled and instead we got Sleeping Dogs which was still great

what flows are you talking about? this game is amazing, it have different levels, like madhouse or that part with shipping contaniers. it have a secret and a bunch of random encounters almost like skyrim. for me it was a breath of fresh air after ACTUALLY empty GTAs. well okay, physics and driving is a bit off and controls are clunky sometimes, but you can't have everything, physics is really hard and you have to hire right people, give game a break for christ sake

  34. I LOVED true crime new york when I was kid. Not the best game. But pretty fun to a young kid lmao

  35. I never beaten this game as a kid but I remember enjoying walking around NYC visiting various shops and I always thought it was cool you can use your trunk to stash weapons gta 4 didn't let you do that.

  36. Ok, you gained a sub, Idc even if the video would be trash, I'm a simple man, I see true crime, I like and sub. Plus, your content is not trash, Good shit my guy 🙂

  37. They should remake this with sleeping dog engine

  38. This was one of my favorite games on the PS2. Really liked the Good Cop/Bad Cop dynamic and how you could enter buildings etc.
I really wish there was a remake of this game.

  39. Game needed one more year in development

  40. I think Bill Clark was the consulting detective (ret) that basically gave NYPD Blue it's wheels. It's an older 90's show but the shooting style works mostly because it's common these days. And it's wrapped together with the 'adult language and themes' that quite simply GIVE a show some authenticity. Remember, this is the 90's : no one takes you seriously unless you swear every other word 😉

Kidding aside, this one show caused the ratings board or standards & practice etc to grow up. Of course, then as f@cking now, it was the half-second sighting of an ASS or two that became the scandal. And the language – can you honestly picture a precinct that wouldn't have cause for some swearing ?

But it's the writing (some of the most 'tangible' dialogue for these characters – there isn't a single one after a few episodes that hasn't proven to be 3-dimensional, they are people you'll give a shit about)and acting that took this beyond the flimsy police themes mixed with the whodunit style or all out octane that competing shows were selling you, Blue rode tall.

  41. I'm confudsed! Why buy the console version and play with emulator when you can just get the official PC version?
