Scientists who study fossils have discovered a new species of tiny T. rex which shows its ancestors were a bit less terrifying. Learn about this story and English words in the news in this free English lesson.
The story
A new dinosaur – a diminutive ancestor of the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex – has been identified by a palaeontologist who first discovered the bones as a teenager in New Mexico more than 20 years ago. The creature dates back 92 million years, about 20 million years earlier than T.rex, and would have been less than a metre tall. Scientists are not certain how the small tyrannosaurus-type dinosaurs evolved into some of the largest and most fearsome creatures ever to walk the Earth.

I hope these videos can have subtitle because my listening is not good, i can't understand all the content of the news. But I really thank BBC for making a lot of useful video for us to learn English, my English is not very good but it's better than before. I will always support you.
so nice 😉 from Vietnamese with love <3
You guys shouldn't give the example of a phrase in the past tense "trode lighlty" it should be "tread lightly", then in e.g. you could use a past tense of that verb underlining it or make it in a different colour. That way you do not confuse people who see that verb for the first time and in examples you also teach them the past form of it. Just a hint from an ESL student 🙂 / Keep up the good work, luv from Poland :*
Thank you, BBC. 💚
