  2. Nice to see you doing more Inventor videos.
Best practise would have been to use the hole command for the keyring part rather than cut or extrude.
For years I ignored this feature, but as you know the drawing can then pull more detailed dimensions when using it to create an dwg.
    You taught me that 🙂

  3. Love your work Neil! So many tips and tricks, even from a simple part like this dog tag.

Teachers often get stuck in a rut, teaching basics and neglecting best practice. I always tried to incorporate both when teaching. To his credit, this young man seems to be a natural speaker when creating his "tutorial". At one point I had to fire up Inventor (2023) to try something I learned about Inventor years ago. It seems Autodesk has eliminated the ability to reorder the feature tree in a part model. I remember being able to drag and drop features in the feature tree in order to "correct" a model feature. I see you can still rename features through properties, after the fact to make things easier to find when programming with iLogic. Another thing I did was to name dimensions as I placed them when creating sketches, also named features as I created part models. I think we may have had a conversation about this years ago. Different strokes. Handled this tutorial with grace as usual. God bless, stay well and Merry Christmas.

  5. @28:55 why didn't you drag the EOP marker and insert the fillet feature?

  6. @21:40 try selecting the projected hole circle, select the locked geometry icon assiciated with the circle and hit delete. Then delete the unconstrained circle.

  7. The good thing is that it's not just a tutorial with music and accelerated 10x…🙃

  8. just press "e" right in the sketch to extrude it.

  9. Hi Neil, when you can delete that projected hole, but you'll have to delete the constraint first. I don't know why Autodesk did this, but once the constraint is gone you will be able to delete the projected line.

  10. Shining again Mr. Neil 🙂 Thank you
