( https://www.alltfl.com/) Check out our new spot to find ALL our content, from news to videos and our podcasts! It may be underrated (and not exactly a hot-ticket seller), but the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon is one of the best-looking cars in its class that you can actually get at a reasonable price! Tommy covers the details in this full driving review.

  1. Looks like they are copying the Skoda Superb a bit. Definitely with the internal space configuration. It was always strange that VAG's budget brand (Skoda) offered more of about everything than their more upmarket brands.

  2. They have sold this car in the US since 2017 and I have still yet to see one in person. I have seen more Ferraris, McLarens, and Lamborghinis than I have of this car. Sad because I am sure this car is very nice. Almost Audi nice.

I've bought a 2022 R Line in December as my Christmas present 🙂 4,384 miles so far and what a great car for the money!!!, as far as VW reliability I have owned Volkswagens since 1993 and currently there are 5 VW's in my family circle with no issues what so ever other than regular maintenance, they are great cars from someone who has put a lot of miles on them. Like the 19" wheels on my Arteon and beautiful wheel, recommend the R SL.

  4. So glad we got our 2018 Passat for only 22000 brand new! These prices are insane!

  5. the new car class..when budget meets luxury, the Bluxury line… like it

Can I say that this is a Budget version of the Audi A7?

  7. Definitely cheaper than the Audi equivalent because if you price it with comparable equipment the Audi is at least 5k more. VW includes nav where Audi charges 1500 for that as an option. The top line Arteon is about 52k…top line A5 prestige is just under 60k. I considered this, but they are unfortunately going away, so I bought an Audi S4 and paid the premium.

  8. Nice looking car, Tommy, but I want the details on that awesome Omega watch you’re sporting!

  9. Volkswagens don't sell due to reliability. If they want to be competitive, they need to offer 100k/10year warranty just like Kia did.

  10. Gorgeous car, but overpriced and on it's way to cancellation in the USA. Drop the price, bring over the R version for the price of today's basic versions and you'd get a few more sales in an admittedly unfriendly sedan market.

  11. Sorry, Tommy, but that color doesn't really look much different in the early morning Florida light than the pavement it sits on. Urban camouflage of the most effective kind. That color is meant to be driven on, not in, IMO. LOL

  12. It looks outdated already . Especially clusters . I had a 17’ CC I loved too .

  13. VW will break, over and over, while the Toyota will not.

I have an Atlas, this looks like an Atlas in a sedan hatchback. VWs are the most utilitarian/useful vehicles in the segments but sadly also the most boring and numb driving experience.

  15. Volkswagen is the car to buy if you want to create a meaningful long-term relationship with your dealer’s service advisor, says this guy who owned two Jettas.

  16. The title says “without the Audi Price Tag”, yet the ‘23 Arteon starts at $43,010 and the exact car it’s based on, the ‘23 Audi A5 Sportback starts at $44,600. A whole $1590 more. That’s why the Arteon doesn’t sell. Because people just buy the Audi. I personally have a ‘22 Audi A5 Coupe and love it. So Tommy and TFL, do your research!

  17. Almost fell asleep, this car is so boring

The Arteon looks better. Fight me in the comments 😂

  19. Welcome to Jacksonville! The Arteon is my type of vehicle. Stylish and practical with that hatch rear. It's just the wrong engine for the car and at quite a high starting price. Its closest competitor in the U.S. is the Kia Stinger, which starts at a whopping $6k less, is better equipped at that price, and has a nicer interior design, IMO. It's also available with a twin-turbo V6.

  20. Thanks Tommy. I enjoyed your video.

  21. I like it 👌🏾

  22. GO AWAY LITTLE TOMMY !

  23. Das trash 💩. Buy a toyota

  24. I have had a 2017 Passat R Line for the past two years and it has done everything I have needed it to without any issues. It has the same crazy legroom in the backseat and gets very good gas mileage even though it does not have anywhere close to 300 hp. The passat however has been extremely affordable. I really like the Arteon but it is not close to the affordable factor found in a passat. If the Arteon was priced lower I would definitely consider grabbing one at some point in the future as I love the rear hatch option.

  25. Very nice looking car for sure.

  26. The 2022 and 23 models performance is much improved over the first few model years. Early models had 268hp and a conventional 8 speed auto. In 2022 they bumped to 300hp and the 7 speed dct and these things rocket to 60 in 4.6s. $50k is a lot but these don't sell well, are forgotten, are in-stock at many dealers and actually have wiggle room on the price or have incentives.

  27. Creepiest thumbnail ever lol

  28. The base audio system in the one I had from enterprise was easily one of the worst audio experiences I've heard. Rest of the car was ok, but at 40k, a bluetooth speaker from best buy was a better experience

  29. That's a nice VW CC

  30. This car is rarely discussed. Although there's also never a large sedan comparison that isn't in the luxury space.

Also doesn't help the production numbers are tiny. 1/2-1/4 as many are made for the US as The amount of Miatas, as a random reference.

  31. Great Vid – very informative – – love the dash … doesn't have the "oops I forgot the ipad" thrown in lastminute… Well thought out design. Clean and sweet….

  32. It’s basically a hushed liability
    Don’t buy kids
