I "tuned in" to see how the mystery of the whole thing was going to be explained. But ofcource that part they ignored compleatley. So I was massivley dissapointed.

This show is just so so good. The first couple of episodes didn’t get me hooked, but if you’ve watched the entire thing, there’s no way you weren’t literally GRASPING for air during the last episode. It was freaking good

The characters are so fucking stupid. Most decisions they make. And I hate how it left sooooooo much unanswered like fuck. At least give us something. The acting wasn’t even that great for it to have took itself THIS seriously. It was okay at best. Most episodes were boring and took to long to get to the point. Overall, great plot but poorly executed

The busses drove “in” that place so there is a way out….. and it was raining really bad and at the beginning when they were on the bus.. and they ALL feel asleep coincidentally.. like not one person was even half awake …. I NEED ANSWERS

First 4 or 5 episodes are pretty boring, but last 5-6 eps are pretty good. I don't think you need to relate to the characters, it's just enjoyable watching the teens having to deal with being adults. Like the whole "If we don't work we don't get food! That's unfair!", which is basically what having a job is. The mob mentality of just jumping on the self pitty bandwagon without any critical tinking, and so on.

It was a little funny at one part though, where one of them said "It was just a small sample of 50 people for this poll"… Which is over 20% of the towns population.

I’ve actually really liked it, the fist 2 episodes were a bit boring but after that the show became really good, I have a lot of questions like were is the bus driver and why weren’t there any teachers but overall i’m really excited for season 2.

Also the older sister dying really upset me bc I didn't expect her to die. especially not that way. she had a whole heart condition they could've played on. Unless it'll be more uncovered in season 2

The whole time I was waiting for them to figure out what's going on around them… reallyyy realllyyy slow reveal. They didn't really begin to care about the world around them and other clues till the last few episodes. completely dissatisfied

There is one question I deeply want answered, how did they come back with the buses, cause there was like 4 of them. and all the parents are already gone
p.s: Sorry if that didn't make sense.

I know it doesn’t seem like it but i think a lot of people are missing the point of the show. It’s to show how gen z or even millennials would do if we were left to rebuild society by ourselves, because the world has changed so much and it’s interesting to see what we would do in these situations and what rules we would make, and how differently we would do than older generations or our parents did it.

It took me 4 or 5 episodes to actually get into the series, initially there were just too many one dimensional characters and it sort of just followed a lot of generic teen, dystopic movie tropes. However, once they started fleshing out the characters and incorporated more socio-political commentary into the fictionalised world it became far more engaging, specifically the situation with Lexie and the 'guard' alongside the relationship between Campbell and Elle. There are still definitely some unnecessary moments and unlikeable characters (Will, why is he a main character?) but I'm really interested to see where it goes in the second season, I'm glad they brought the storyline back to the main mystery in the plot by the end of the last episode!

Just discovered this show on Monday and I watched it in 2 days I mostly showed up because Katherine Newton and Sean Berdy are in it. It did remind me a lot of the CW shows. I want a second season with more answers or to understand what is happening in other places. I was so intrigued by the first 3 episodes and then it just stalled out for the rest of the season until the last episode… so weird… But I want to know more

Something that has really been shitting me lately is the automatic assumption that if you didn't like something then the writing was bad by so many people on so many different shows. I think to judge that you really have to understand what the writers of the show were trying to achieve, good writing often looks bad if you ate viewing from the wrong frame of reference.

This show took me by surprise, It was on I wasn't intending to watch it but by the end I was hooked. I was expecting things to get a lot darker a lot quicker (I was honestly surprised that it wasn't an adaptation of a Stephen king story). I appreciated that the characters usually did things in a smarter and more insightful way than I was expecting and that things were getting worse in spite of the character actions rather than because. At its core I think the main purpose of the show is to explore political ideas and I really liked the way they did that.

I have had doubts about this series so I would hesitate. But one day I decided to watch and let me tell you, the show was amazing! To the point where I BINGED without getting bored. The plot was just so interesting and very rare to the series I've watched before. You should give it a try because I did and I DO not have any regrets. The overall show was an 8.8/10.

Dude the partied like once…in the first episode.
If this was a review for the first episode, I would agree with all your points, but did you watch the whole series?
They fix almost every issue your talking about as the series progresses.

I agree that the dialogue/script wasn't the best and there were some actors that were just okay and others that were super talented and I felt that those actor's abilities and talents were definitely being restricted by the script. I liked the writing in general too aside from a few plot points, but the decisions that were being made regarding the community and how certain things played out made a lot of sense to me and I could easily see some of these things happening if something like this were ever to happen in real life~Great review! I can't wait for season 2~!

It felt like it was a parody of teens and the main characters get basic character arcs. No real teen dumb or awkward moments in the show about teens.
