It makes me laugh, the naive people that think you can just switch to Ev's in 5 years. ??? Infrastructure for charging? Grid Capacity to charge them? LOL, Cali actually has Blackouts in their normal Grid management now. Range? How do you take a trip to Florida from Chicago in an EV (does it turn into 5 days one way now)? Has the first assault been recorded because someone took someone else's EV off charge so they could charge theirs? Again, I'm thinking Chicago…

I rented a model 3 long range for a week, put 930 miles on it with the nav showing 287 kwh used and 308 Watt hour per mile average. Of note, Tesla’s chargers charged me for 316 kwh, which is $116 at the rate that the charger you show in the video charges (inyokern CA, $0.37 per kWh). The most range I saw on it was 205 miles going from 100% to 5% charge and using 65 kwh to charge back to 100%, driving it like a real car, ie, 75-80 mph on cruise, running stereo, AC and continuously using headlights for safety. Comparably, my Prius gets 40 mpg on that same route from LA to Inyokern area and back, so driving the model 3 and using Tesla’s chargers is like paying $4.99 per gallon of gas for the 930 miles driven. If you charge at home from your own solar panels, it is great. If you pay for Tesla supercharging, you are better off driving a Prius, because the 10 gallon tank in the Prius goes 400 miles on real world driving vs Tesla only going 200 miles. Could I live with a Prius that had a 5 gallon gas tank? Not really.

I’m curious why you put the model 3 in the “non luxury” category and put the model Y in the luxury category? They are built on the same platform, use the same power train, batteries, interior, seats, switch gear, electronic dash, etc. and similarly equipped the model Y SUV is only $7k more than the model 3 sedan, which means the model 3 performance is the same price as the model Y long range. If one of them is luxury, they are both luxury.

US cant afford to pay for EVs like Europe, we are still paying our own
health insurance. Apples and Oranges. Also the track record of the Auto
industry with bad transmissions, and AFM results in my policy of driving
10 year old vehicles. I spend 2-3 grand per car every 3-4 years or so.
    Thats my limit.

Well the issue is affordability . I am happy to buy an electric car if government is going to give me a tax credit equal to the difference of the cost but when that runs out we any have problems . People are not going to buy until affordable .

Problem with EV's is refueling? If and when your local power goes out for days where do you charge the car? If you are on the road and run out of power likely that means a flatbed haul to a charging station because no one can run out to the car and fill it up in 10 minutes. Those are real issues where ICE cars have a huge advantage, not to mention initial fuel up and range and then there's the cold weather effect on electric cars which is significant!

Bought a Tesla! I did test drive almost all electro vehicles. Driving a Tesla is like living in the future. Its your decision, buy the car you want, but you will regret if its not a Tesla. Tesla is light years ahead of any competition!

I am surprised how inexpensive these cars are.Every car sold will probably put 2 to3 auto workers out of work and 2to 3 garage mechanics out of work.Unless the new phase of electric car builders build their cars to fail, and need mechanics to fix them, we will have more unemployed people living off the government. Every product you buy must be set up to fail ,didn't you learn anything from the Chinese manufacturing industry products that you keep spending your money on.

Electric cars are pointless. They take forever to charge, they can instantly kill you if you accidentally drive one into a river, or a lake, because water, and electricity don’t mix, they are super expensive, they are so quiet, you can easily get run over by an electric car, because you can’t hear them, iconic cars like the Mustang are being ruined by making them electric, SUVs, and pick up trucks are being ruined by making them electric, car corporations like GM, and Ford have been brainwashed by our government’s we are causing climate change excuse by making all of their cars electric. All electric car owners are idiots, because they have been brainwashed by our government’s we are causing climate change excuse.

EV without Auto Pilot doesnt value even 1 $ ! i want sit in the car without touch any thing just say take me home and it do ! Just Tesla ! rest is bullshit !🤭 , people buy tesla not because of electric car , they buy it because of Auto Pilot , Tesla has its own Satelite to navigate its own cars witch put it in totally another level of technology !

EV, Not for me! I like a car that I can drive without fear. It's a bad feeling to be scared to take you car out. I've experienced that 30 years ago with my truck propane conversion! I had to call first to see if propane was available to where I was going. People with EV's in Alberta are scared to drive to BC as well. A lot of cars are sold or returned in California too. No, I'll stick with gas as long as I can..

These cars are UGLY AS HELL. They're way too expensive for what you get. The screens are the biggest eyesore I've ever seen on a dash, and they're all doing this on purpose to kill your freedom with autonomous vehicles. Soon they'll control wether or not your allowed to go anywhere unless they say you can. You know that outcome. Their all liars. Soon only the rich will have their own electric car and the rest will only be allowed to go autonomous – If they let you. You suckers.
