Describes how to get a descent teaching job in Japan and why to avoid sketchy schools. #EFLJapan #TeachEnglishJapan #NOVAEnglishSchoolJapan #JapanJobs #ESLJapan
I'm starting with NOVA in a few weeks. I'm using it just to get myself into the country. Once I'm there, I will find somewhere to move onto. I'm just hoping the experience won't be so awful.
Hey, what schools do you reccomend? I got a job with heart Corp. I did it just to get the visa. Would love to get a better paying job in a better city if possible.
I remember when Nova folded a decade ago…heard some stories that teachers were left unpaid (allegedly). Not sure how they were allowed to come back without balancing their books first.
thank you for your honest review
so basically NOVA = high turnover, low salary despite experience

To be fair, the point about wages can be applied to almost all language employers in Japan. Experience and qualifications count for nothing.
Do you need a Bachelor’s degree to work for nova ?
Can you suggest some companies that take non-native Eng speaking people?
