Range Rovers don’t come around very often. Over the car’s 50-year lifespan, this new model is just the fifth iteration of the iconic 4×4. The original Range Rover was conceived as the ultimate lifestyle SUV; luxury came later. The latest version is tasked with reinventing the genre yet again, with luxury, technology and design to the fore. There’ll be two plug-in hybrid versions on offer – both using a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine with up to 503bhp available. Mild-hybrid tech will also be an option with a pair of 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesels and a petrol version as well. Top of the range will be a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 petrol pumping out 523bhp. From 2024 the range will include a fully-electric model. Steve Fowler delves into the design, interior, technology and driving experience of the all-new Range Rover in this first drive review.

  1. When will the plug 🔌 in hybrid be available in California? Want to order one asap!

  2. A subservient review
No mention of the reliability issue.
    Remember: Pros, Cons and skeletons

Hope in Allah for being rich..

  5. OMG that is just so (non)nationallistically funny. Range Rover, the least reliable car in the 21st century is the "Best Car". Go figure. Can only be us (once upon a time)-and-them bias in play. Jogo Lock and Paul Martin got the glaring disconnect spot on (below).

  6. Reliability????? What's that???

  7. How can this be an honest taredown with those 2 sitting in the back ?????

  8. If they are serious about India…they should bring it here at a reasonable price….and eV-hybrid one…all one needs is Money…looking at the Global recession they should quickly adjust the enormoous Price tag…

  9. F sake b. It’s a Range Rover

  10. Leather is sustainable, P-U comes from petroleum!

Did you know that 80% of all Landrovers ever made are still on the road?

    The rest made it home.

  12. All electric version please

  13. The Range Rover is not the best car in the world- it is far from it. The top 10 best cars in the world are all BMWs.

  14. Absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to see what the new sport will look like. And the beginning of this vid was funny lol

    “No!….THE RANGE ROVER!”

  16. Heard from a few people now that JLR are reducing production scales to tie in with other luxury brands whereby their numbers are lower but reliability and exclusivity to try and improve peoples viewpoints on the brand

  17. Not much legroom in the back, for Nick

  18. Looks cramped in the back. Better off with a hatchback and live debt free instead.

  19. Good Beautiful

  20. Wow was this the filming of the original launch of the car

  21. Jealous! No diesel in USA

  22. So oil-based plastic is now seen in some circles as more environmentally/vegan/woke-friendly than a natural product available in abundance that will otherwise go to waste. Well well! What has this World come to? It is infested with morons and I don’t want to live on this planet any more, to borrow a phrase used in Futurama.

  23. I absolutely love the Range Rover. But best car in the world? Not close. The aim of a car is to transport people and stuff. Difficult to do that when it will spend a lot of time in a repair shop.

Decades of promises from JLR – claiming they have improved reliability. Reliability surveys prove beyond doubt, they haven’t.

  24. Anyone know the colour of this test car? – looks stunning

  25. Beautiful car, I own a 2018 RR sport cannot wait for the new Sport. Nothing on the road looks as good as that!

Don’t like those vegan friendly seats tho I must say

  26. How can one of the least reliable cars be the best car in the world?

  27. The guy sitting behind you apparently doesn't have enough legroom, but you didn't mention it!

  28. I give it 6 months max before it starts popping lights and breaks down… and I'm being conservative..

  29. Have they fixed the appalling reliability of these vehicles. Range rover is beauty for sure but does that matter if it's in garage every other month 🙁

  30. Can’t wait for the electric version. Then all the stuff that breaks down will have gone.

  31. Will they get the build quality right? I doubt it but time for them to concentrate on it as world wide Land Rover has a very bad reputation on quality.

  32. Beautiful vehicle but guaranteed to fall apart in no time at all.

  33. The rear seat looks so cramped. The poor guy was struggling to sit.

  34. Talk about not screwing it up while making it more desirable 👍

  35. “The best car in the world?” Not if it’s as unreliable as its 4 forebears, all of which have been worst in class – for over 50 years. Some record!

  36. What was the paint colour on this please!
