The all-new Lexus NX is the Japanese brand’s take on a luxury midsize SUV, rivalling models like the BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes GLC. While this second-generation model looks similar to the old car, it’s been given a significant makeover inside with a larger infotainment screen and even more luxurious materials. It’s all changed under the bonnet too, with a regular hybrid available alongside a new plug-in model that can manage 40 miles of pure-electric running and over 300mpg. So, the NX now has the technology, luxury and powertrains to compete, but is it enough to justify picking one over its luxury rivals? Nicola puts it to the test to deliver the full verdict.

  1. El pasado mes de Agosto he comprado uno exactamente igual al del vídeo. Por lo que veo en UK el equipo de sonido en el F Sport es el Mark Levinson, en España creo que no es el mismo.

  2. Hi
Yesterday I did a test drive for a Lexus nx 450h in hybrid mode, and I was surprised that for the duration of the test the sound of the electric motors was annoying… Is this normal for the hybrid mode? Another thing I felt was that the suspension system is not quite as good as described in the videos because I I felt it concretely in the street potholes and light bumps. Besides in the volvo xc60 b5 mild hybrid test nothing of this felt no annoying sounds and good behaviour suspensions.

The price is excellent considering how much you will save on taxes/insurance/repairs/maintenance/fuel. Real fking bargain and that driver's cockpit! Wow. That's great design (not talking about the looks but the usability of it)

  4. review is average, poor attempt at trying to be funny. Stick to your day job 👍

  5. Looks nice but it is too plain. Looks as if it was made by Kia. The inside is far better looking than the previous model but it is still dull and not suitable for the car of this price range.

  6. Can we please have Nicola Hume as the next Doctor Who, I reckon she would be amazing!!!!!

  7. I sat briefly in this model today and it feels amazing. Everything very comfortable and elegant. Even nicer than the RX. Only comment – it is 4 people car. Somehow middle back seat isn't really a seat in Lexuses.

Great review, did you feel comfortable in the f-sport seat despite the heavy bolsters?

  10. It’s unconventional? How?

I know this car is not going to the mechanic frequently even after 10yrs. Which is absolutely not the case for BMW. They Cost a fortune to maintain. Lexus is the best luxury brand out there. And with this NX they r way better than the germans

  13. I am sorry but is it only me.. I am happy their touchpad system is gone but.. the new infotainment still doesn't cut it for me it's a lexus.. I hate kia but their interior is better than this 🙈

  14. Would you get this nx or Volvo xc 60?

    Great review. Informative and entertaining.

  16. Lexus stepped up its game remarkably ! As did the reviewer !

  17. Great review, very enthusiastic! I'd certainly test drive one of these if I was in the market for a new car! That interior is a huge improvement, well done Lexus.

  18. Nice blue

  19. Does this model or the plug in have “room mode” like the RAV4 prime or “camp mode” like Tesla?

  20. Very nice. Something tells me Lexus drivers are not too bothered about that CVT gearbox. Most people who buy these want reliability and luxury and this car delivers big time.
