Organisers of Sunday’s 4th October London Marathon say they are incredibly proud it went ahead during the pandemic.
Thousands of runners took part following their own routes across the country, including 87-year-old Ken Jones in County Tyrone, who finished in just under eight hours.

there are also virtual Marathon competitions in my country during lockdown. a my friend run around the yard for over 2 hours to finish half marathon distance, he braved appetite for sleeping at the weekend, and the result really made him heartwarming with getting a T-shirt and medal for finisher

A nice example of the word virtual being used without a computer context is in the study of physics optical, when we study mirrors. We have the real light and the virtual light (for images inside the mirror)
