The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – better known as Harry and Meghan – have announced the birth of their second child. They’ve named her ‘Lilibet’, which was the Queen’s nickname when she was a child. The baby’s middle name is ‘Diana’, which was the name of Harry’s mother.

The story
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced the birth of their second child. The girl was born on Friday in Santa Barbara, California.

She’s been named Lilibet Diana after the Queen and Princess Diana, but will be known as ‘Lili’.

    grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. … It came about as a result of how the then Princess, mispronounced her own name as a young girl. Therefore, Lilibet originates from the Hebrew name Elizabeth, which means "God's promise" or "pledged to God."
