  1. What’s funny is that this video is longer than my typical play through of pikmin

There’s no way a 4 hour pikman review isnt half retarded rambling

  3. I love tiny things so much. I still remember my absolute feeling of Joy when I dug up a ton of chapstick in one of the Pikmin games I think it might have been Pikmin too, because I always had really dry lips so I had to carry around a ton of chapstick with me and it sounds stupid but I had this huge grin scene a tin of ChapStick in this alien game and it was the same one that I carried around all the time

  4. I'm right here with you Arlo I also have an odd obsession with media about tiny people or creatures. That is why both Pikmin and Katamari Damacy were some of my most beloved games of all time. And when I finally got around to being able to play zelda, Minish Cap was right up my alley lol. I also loved the Toy Story 2 game on the PS1 because of that same reason.

  5. This is perhaps some of the worst Pikmin footage I have seen. I like his points about the game… But I've seen my younger sister do Emporer Bulblax better at 10 years old

  6. Can’t wait for the big fat review for Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3!

  7. Pikmin is my favorite series because it is such a unique gameplay experience. I was a real little kid when I first got Pikmin 1 and it was a beautiful yet scary world and I felt so responsible for these adorable creatures. No other game has that. Pikmin 2 was always my favorite because i could freely endlessly grind Pikmin and the dungeons felt so cool to explore. I really hope Pikmin 4 brings in a whole lot of new fans!

This was an absolute joy to watch through. I loved watching all of it and it was funny and entertaining throughout the whole 4 hours. I hope to see this again with all the other Pikmin games :).

  11. I just realized the closest thing we have to a The Martian videogame is Pikmin, and now I love it even more. Fear Olimar's botany powers!

  12. Pikmin and Koroks are equally adorable.

  13. Squarsh had to be my favorite part😂 finally finished it!

  14. I almost found myself a little… sad, when it was over. This video, I mean. It just felt like a nice hangout session, when you’re at a friends, but you have to go. Great video, and I loo forward to more big fat reviews in the future!

  15. I do hope your big fat review of Pikmin 2 won't be too far off. This is great. I doubt you won't just move on to other things 1st and would just jump right into the sequel.

  16. Never played Pikmin, all I know Is Olimar Is annoying to fight In SB, but I love how much passion you have for Pikmin. Will stilk probably never play Pikmin.
    Pikmin.

  17. geeeez I wish I had discovered pikmin earlier than I did, I wish I had this kind of experience with the games

  18. I litteraly stoped the video half way through, went and play through the whole game not to be spoiled and came back to finish it. It was a great gaming experience and probably the most charming, thanks arlo for finally pushing me to do this game.

  19. I keep finding myself going back to an odd time when I think of this game, I loved it so deeply and was my escape from some real harsh things… I remember none of my friends knew of it or even tried, it was an isolating thing but something I felt so deeply for—- I have all three emulated now and I even homage this series in some of my comic work as it… its left such an impact….

the community of this game is also some of the best I have ever seen so maybe…. the vibe is just something I keep looking for : 3

Thank you for loving this series so deeply, it feels a little less isolating due to it. I hope they keep pikmin for many many decades in the realm of story telling, it is a micro epic, a lovely representation of the unknown and known things—– how one could think of just shifting perspective to see a whole new world is a lovely thing to see.

  20. I think this video might have given me a Pikmin/excitement overdosis XD

  21. Arlo: "I like this game a normal amount"
everyone: yes we can tell we love you

Bro, I didn’t think about this till just now, the blaster has to be marketing fluff cause Olimar (and therefore the blaster itself,) is like the size of an ant.

  23. 3:18:16 actually the spots on bulborbs pulse too, but I think they don’t pulse as much. Also I think the spots on dwarf bulborbs don’t pulse last time I checked but idk

  24. 2:52:08 Does anyone else hate how no matter how many pikmin you have swarming the frogs, momentarily stunning them, they will ALWAYS get an attack off? You see it keep failing to jump, and you think, "maybe I'll be able to kill it before it jumps this time" but it'll ALWAYS does.

The red’s have noses just as another way to distinguish them. Maybe a built in colorblind assist. Yellows have ears and blues have mouths.

  26. 2:34:22 Does it annoy anyone else that the back is glowing red and smoking, and yet you don't need to just throw reds up there? Like, why? It's established that different elements kill 2 of your 3 pikmin types, and yet they put in extreme heat that doesn't kill blues and yellows.

  27. Watching you play the game badly and predictably lose hordes of pikmin and never readjust your strategy was painful.

  28. I'm finally done with the video! Didn't quite make it in 2022. Great video and really interesting, from someone that never played a Pikmin game before. After this I do have interest in trying Pikmin 3 on Switch though..

  29. 19:53 that looks insanely good

  30. Watching you play this game hurts my soul seeing you guide pikmin directly underneath wollywogs and such similar scenarios while complaining about how deadly they are

  31. You know what this means…

"A Big Fat Review of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" for 2023

  32. The way I feel about this review is the way I feel about Pikmin 1. It was really good and my only complaint is that it's not Pikmin 2. Hoping for a big fat review of 2 someday! Great video!

  33. The reds have noses because it’s what they attack with since they’re the hardest hitting out of the three.

  34. I’ve been watching this video in parts while I drive back and forth to work over the past couple weeks and I’m just finishing it today. This was an incredible video. I’ve played Pikmin a little bit as a kid, but Pikmin 3 is the one I have the most experience with. Makes me wish I could go back and play the first one again.

Oddly enough, this video made me very nostalgic for one of MY favorite games of all time, Harvest Moon 64. It makes me want to make a video or essay like this just so I can try to finally get out every little thing I love about that game.

  35. Loved the video Arlo and looking forward to a similar review for Pikmin 2! I hope it includes a lot of comparisons to Pikmin 1 in how some elements were improved, expanded, changed, or (maybe) weakened. Also, I have my own explanation for why some of the seemingly-useless ship parts are probably mandatory; they likely aid in sealing the ship against the cold vacuum of space. For instance, you can see the Sagittarius and Libra plug tiny holes in the ship's body, the Interstellar Radio and Guard Satellite plug into the side of the ship on take off, and the Anti-Dioxin Filter and Bowsprit give your ship a major hole-patching makeover upon their addition. Oh, and the Repair-Type Bolt is needed to fix the Automatic Gear that Olimar mentions is cracked and that he repaired it with dirt.

  36. Amazing review!
Can't wait for Paper Mario TTYD Big Fat Review!

  37. One of my favorite things about pikmin 1 is when you see the ship getting upgraded, so fun seeing the wacky upgrades it gets

  38. A. I think the aesthetic you're thinking of mixing sci-fi and nature would be solarpunk. It's all about societies built around a unification of modern technology and natural growth

  39. im glad someone shares my intense love of pikmin. theres so much charm to it.

  40. This is an Arlo and Kane masterclass
