🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  2. Love your channel. Have you thought about wearing a customized green bandanna to match your channel logo. And passing some out to all the fans asking how to find your channel?

  3. Some comments are confused why these people eat some pigs whereas Indonesian are muslim (perhaps you guys are confused with previous videos in this channel , ie : Indonesian ed).

FYI, not ALL Indonesian are muslim even though the majority of them are muslim.

This ceremony was taken in Toraja tribe village (Sulawesi Island) in which all of them are Cristian, so they do eat pigs etc.

Indonesia is very huge country with a lot of Islands/traditions /local languages/ cultures for each region. Even though majority are muslim, but not all of them are muslim. There are 5+ religions in Indonesia : Islam, Cristian, Catholic, Hindu, Budhis, and there are also animism etc.. so it is very diverse

  4. it's unique and turns funerals into a more happy occasion but the animal treatment, especially the pigs laying in other animals' blood, tied up, and foaming at the mouth for periods of time, is appalling.

  5. plz be vegetarian.karma always with you

  6. I love how sunny always respects the culture and the food no matter what it is. ❤❤❤

  7. Beautiful can I leave this world like this..

  8. Even for most Indonesian, Torajan culture is so bizarre!!!!

  9. AMAZING. I was not expecting to get emotional…. lost a lot of ppl in these trying years.

  10. Hell slaughter😞😢😢

  11. Stupid culture.. killing and slaughtering animals for a fest during time of death in the family.

  12. I think by having the body of the dead family member inside the house, it helps the family to cope with the loss. Because the loss doesn't feel too sudden, but it is done gently. Just like that man who is still talking to his father on daily basis.

  13. When you think how much money this video would have made. Then think off the plane cost to fly them there, hotel land travel food etc they must make these videos at a loss

  14. Ok, this is one of the most incredible episode 😳

  16. indonesians eats pig too, i thought they are muslims.

  17. 😍😍😍🇯🇲

  18. THANK YOU SONNY

  19. Sonny brings a tray of drugs to the party 😂

  20. sutch a good fucking show!!!!

  21. These people should probably respect their parents while they are alive, not when they are dead and just as symbolism.

  22. 1 phần của Lạc việt vì biến động mà đến nơi đây

  23. barbarians the lot of them

  24. Very soon due to spread of Christianity their rituals will be forbidden in the name of modern civilized society

  25. Nat Geo or Discovery ain’t got shit on this channel.

  26. Each of your videos is a contemporary document of a country or nation! These documentaries are not just food reviews, but anecdotes about the lifestyle and culture of a region or nation for thousands of years! Bravo man! Excellent! Go ahead! Greetings and love from Bangladesh.

  27. Nat Geo or Discovery ain’t got shit on this channel.

  28. More than just a food show, the cultural aspect of this episode is really amazing. Interesting to learn about this world's incredible diversity in cultural practices. You're like natgeo, tourist, cooking, cultural show all rolled up into one…..keep up the amazing work guys. Always looking forward to new episodes

Please ….I don't think you made the best choice to make known those villagers sleeping with dead in the house !!! It is an unimaginable wilderness! Why don't they eat them too if that's the case??? So many animals slaughtered and cooked unhygienic, I wonder if they are still alive after eating with them!!!

    very interesting

  33. You sir are truly a world citizen.

  34. Some people may find the slaughter of a buffalo disturbing.
I find it disturbing that some people can't stomach what it takes to make their food and they will legislate that you cant see it either.

  35. 😍I'm such a fan of your work, and it inspires me a lot.

  36. The best thing about Sonny is that he makes the comments about the diverse culture & rituals totally unbiased. He is committed to take the viewers to a new dimension of life around the world.
